What’s In It For You? (Compensation & Benefits)

• Competitive Pay: Starting pay is competitive. Range is $19.00-$23.00/hr.

• Schedule: About 30-32 hours per week, including at least one evening and every Saturday from 8am-3pm. (Schedules are subject to change based on patient needs).

•  Tuesday: Annapolis (12:00 PM – 8:00 PM)

• Wednesday: Laurel / Hdg /Dundalk (12:00 PM – 8:00 PM). Any of these offices may need coverage on this day

• Thursday: Towson (12:00 PM – 8:00 PM)

• Saturday: Varies (8:00 AM – 3:00 PM)

The Reality of the Role (What to Expect)

We believe in being transparent. At MATClinics, you're much more than someone who collects a urine sample. You play a key role in each patient's recovery journey by gathering meaningful information, supporting providers, and helping our clinics operate efficiently. Every day is a balance of clinical care, technology, customer service, and teamwork. You will:

• Conduct detailed patient interviews covering medical history, substance use, mental health, and recovery progress to help providers make informed treatment decisions.

• Spend a significant portion of your day using technology, including documenting in the electronic health record, ordering and processing laboratory specimens, and maintaining accurate patient records.

• Prepare and coordinate long acting injectable medications while educating patients about available services, including counseling, psychiatry, and other resources that support their recovery.

• Provide compassionate, professional customer service by answering phones, scheduling appointments, responding to patient questions, and helping patients navigate their care.

• Work closely with providers and teammates in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly and everyone pitches in when needed.

• Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming clinic by assisting with light cleaning and supporting both the clinical and administrative teams throughout the day.

This role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, highly organized, comfortable with technology, and enjoys wearing many hats. If you're looking for a traditional "room patients and take a blood pressure" Medical Assistant job, this isn't it. What You Bring (Qualifications)

• Customer Service: High level of customer service and professional phone etiquette required, with the ability to maintain empathy and composure in a fast-paced environment.

• Communication & Patient Engagement: Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required, with a demonstrated ability to speak and write clearly, listen effectively, and engage compassionately with patients in recovery. 

• Tech-Intuitive: You don’t just have "basic skills", you are fast and smart with software, apps, and digital filing.

• SUD Knowledge: You understand (or are ready to learn) the specifics of addiction, recovery, and treatments like Buprenorphine.

• Flexibility: You are okay with working evenings and every Saturday.

• Logistics: A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel between all office locations as required.

• Education: High School Diploma or GED. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, psychology, human services, or a related field preferred.
