Job DetailsJob Location: Marietta, OH 45750Position Type: Full TimeJob Shift: Varies as scheduledJob Category: Allied HealthIn an environment of continuous quality improvement, the Cardiac CT and Interventional Radiology Tech is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographs. Assisting in administration of contrast media related to particular diagnostic procedures. This position also operates CT scanners to produce detailed cross sectional images of the body for diagnosing conditions like tumors, strokes, and injuries. Adjusts scan parameters, ensures image quality, and manages patient comfort and safety during imaging. Exhibits the MHS Standards of Excellence and exercises strict confidentiality at all times.
Job Functions:
Positions patients; immobilizes as necessary.
Assists physician during angiographic and interventional procedures.
Properly places electrodes on patients and monitors heart rates to perform gated CT studies.
Sets up sterile trays and other equipment practicing sterile technique.
Assists physician during procedure to include handling of instruments, operating and monitoring equipment, calling out equipment readings; alerts physician to changes in patient condition.
Scrubs to assist with passage of catheters/guidewires.
Loads power injectors with contrast media; prepares for injection.
Maintains studies within the Image archival system.
Schedules patient procedures.
Charges patients for procedures and supplies in EHR.
Assists in orientation of new technologists; provides education and training to student technologists. Maintains patient records and statistical data. Coordinates scheduling and patient flow; coordinates procedure performance across different hospital divisions (anesthesia, radiology). Performs other related duties incidental to the work therein (patient transport, etc.)
Maintains supply inventory; order supplies.
Assists with training of new physicians
Assists radiologists with development of new protocols and imaging techniques that are unique to facility.
Orients new technologists to these procedures.
Monitors charging of procedures and supplies for division to ensure correctness.
Monitors assigned inventory expiration dates.
Maintains a par inventory of catheters, balloons, stents, guidewires, and miscellaneous kits under discretion of manager.
Monitors inventory levels and par levels.
Performs CTA cardiac, CTA TAVR, and CTA watchman studies for Cardiologists.
Performs Cystogram studies.
Maintains compliance in RQI.
Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
QualificationsMinimum Education/Experience Required:
ARRT registered or registry eligible (equal to 2 years post high school) and licensed by the State of Ohio.
Basic EKG Class within one year required.
CT Certification within 2 years required.
Vascular Interventional Radiography Certification within 2 years required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Will obtain during hospital orientation.
Special Knowledge, Skills, Training:
Interpersonal and basic clerical skills and ability to follow instructions.
Experience with angiography preferred.
Compensation Details: Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
