Position Overview:

This position will support the development and ongoing operations of the Coronary CT Angiography (CCTA) program. The technologist must have hands-on experience performing CCTA examinations, including ECG-gated cardiac CT acquisition, patient preparation, contrast timing, cardiac protocol execution, image quality assessment, and post-processing/3D reconstruction. The technologist will work collaboratively with Radiology, Cardiology, nursing, and vendor application specialists to support standardized CCTA workflows, protocol optimization, training, and quality assurance.

EDUCATION:

• Graduation from an JRCERT accredited Radiologic Technologist Program

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

• CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist (from state where work is being performed)
• BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
• RHF-Radiology Fluoroscopy within 180 Days of hire if required at the affiliate.

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

• Recent CT experience required, including demonstrated hands-on experience performing Coronary CT Angiography (CCTA).

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Comprehensive knowledge of diagnostic computed tomography principles, procedures, protocols, equipment, and radiation safety practices, including experience performing routine and advanced CT examinations and responding appropriately to trauma and other urgent clinical situations.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience performing Coronary CT Angiography (CCTA), including patient preparation, ECG-gated cardiac CT acquisition, contrast administration and bolus timing, cardiac protocol execution, heart-rate considerations, image quality assessment, and cardiac image reconstruction/post-processing.
• Knowledge of cardiac CT anatomy and CCTA workflow, with the ability to recognize technical factors that may impact diagnostic image quality and appropriately collaborate with radiologists, cardiologists, nursing staff, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team.
• Ability to perform routine and specialized CT examinations with a strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, medical terminology, and CT imaging principles.
• Knowledge of CT protocol optimization, image reconstruction, and post-processing techniques. Experience with advanced 3D post-processing platforms, including TeraRecon or similar technology, is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clinical and technical information clearly, professionally, and appropriately to patients, providers, and multidisciplinary team members.
• Well-developed time-management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments, manage multiple responsibilities, and work effectively within established policies, procedures, protocols, and departmental standards.
• Working knowledge of healthcare information systems and computer applications, including electronic health records (EHR), Epic/Radiant, Radiology Information Systems (RIS), PACS, and Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team while effectively managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
• Ability to identify, evaluate, and resolve routine technical and workflow issues by selecting appropriate solutions within established standards and escalating concerns when necessary.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and ensures the privacy and security of protected health information (PHI) in accordance with organizational, state, and federal requirements.
• Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with peers, radiologists, cardiologists, nursing staff, leadership, and other healthcare professionals to support departmental objectives, patient safety, quality imaging, and efficient clinical workflows.

Pay Range is $53.95 to $75.53 / hour

The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
