First Assist CVOR CSTFA/CSFA – 13-Week Contract Assignment (w/possible extensions)

Day Shift | 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
13-Week Assignment @ $72 an hour (W2)

ATC Healthcare of Las Vegas is seeking an experienced CVOR Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSTFA/CSFA) for a 13-week hospital assignment with a large acute care facility. This position requires a highly skilled cardiovascular surgical professional with recent open-heart surgery experience who can independently function as a First Assist and perform endoscopic vein harvesting.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as First Assistant during cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures.
  • Independently perform endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) utilizing the Maquet Hemopro 2 System.
  • Assist with CABG, valve, vascular, thoracic, and other cardiovascular procedures.
  • Provide exposure, tissue handling, hemostasis, suturing, vessel preparation, and wound closure.
  • Maintain sterile field and ensure compliance with all surgical safety standards.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, perfusionists, and OR staff to achieve positive patient outcomes.

Required Qualifications

Current CST certification (NBSTSA)
Current CSFA or CSTFA certification
Minimum 2 years recent CVOR experience
Recent First Assist experience in cardiovascular surgery
MUST be competent and independent in endoscopic vein harvesting
MUST have experience utilizing the Maquet Hemopro 2 System
MUST have open-heart/CABG experience
Current BLS certification

Preferred Experience

  • High-volume CVOR programs
  • Valve replacement/repair procedures
  • Vascular and thoracic surgery
  • Travel or contract assignments
