Full Time Microbiology Laboratory Technologist

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Clinical Laboratory Technologist with strong laboratory skills to join our Microbiology Laboratory team. Under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor, the successful candidate will perform a variety of complex and routine laboratory tests while ensuring compliance with all safety, quality, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform and evaluate microbiological testing procedures accurately and efficiently.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Adhere to established laboratory policies, quality assurance standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure accurate documentation and timely reporting of test results.
• Maintain compliance with all safety protocols and infection control procedures.
• Collaborate effectively with laboratory colleagues, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support optimal patient care.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and ongoing staff development activities.

Schedule Requirements:

• Rotation of weekends and scheduled holidays based on departmental needs.
• Flexibility to support operational requirements and patient care demands.

Bachelor of Science degree in chemical, Physical, Biological, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology from an approved program. Certified as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, by New York State Education Department. One-year relevant Blood Bank laboratory experience needed.
