Description

• Provides leadership for day to day unit operations in interventional radiology supporting vascular and neuro-interventional operations.
• Communicates patients' and staff needs and responses through appropriate verbal and written methodology.
• Ensures that patient care assignments are based on patient care requirements and staff competence.
• Maintains records for service and compliance with internal and external regulatory guidelines.
• Responsible for completion of orientation, initial and ongoing competency requirements of each staff member.
• Assists in administrative activities such as budget planning, identifying means of cost containment, coordinating department staffing schedules and ensuring communication regarding areas of concern.
• Provides and coordinates the resources needed within the department to provide optimal patient outcomes.
• Assures availability of equipment and supplies for all procedures.
• Maintains education/competency files on all employees.
• Facilitates the process of patient/family education efforts by assessing the need for intervention providing staffing coverage, supporting and reinforcing clinical instructions.
• Serves as a resource for advanced clinical and technical knowledge for all staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology with ARRT certification.
• Advanced certification in Vascular Interventional (VI) Radiography required.
• Must demonstrate proficiency in neuro-interventional suite within 6 months of employment.
• Must have a minimum of five (5) years experience with three (3) year in Interventional Radiology.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock , Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation , Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks
