LAB ASSISTANT II

Job Details: Job Location: 1400 Noriega - San Francisco, CA, Salary Range: $38.00 - $38.00Hourly, SUMMARY OF POSITION:   The Lab Assistant II performs Laboratory procedures in phlebotomy, central processing and reception duties.   ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:   Performs all essential duties of the Lab Assistant I. Registers and greets patients, reviews/obtain lab orders, post lab charges, release lab orders, informs, generates and posts bills and collects payments. Draws patients in an accurate and timely manner. Primary contact person for performing difficult draws. Receives, process, track and send specimens. Performs clerical duties such as recording temperatures, receives and signs for evidence from officers and couriers and logs evidence and keeps accurate records. Follows manufacturer’s instruction to operate CLIA waived laboratory instrument. Follows procedures to accurately perform CLIA waived laboratory tests. Reports CLIA waived lab test results to clinician. Participates in Lab Quality Assurance programs. Explains to patients how to collect random or timed urine, sputum, feces or semen samples accurately. Assists the Lead Lab Assistant in routine check-up on lab supplies and materials. Performs other job duties as required by manager/supervisor.  Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS:   Current Certified Phlebotomy Technician 1 ( CPT-1) certificate issued by the State of California High School Certificate/GED is required Minimum of 18 months or more work experience in Lab Assistant Must be proficient in using computers Knowledge of EPIC system preferred Knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred Current documentation of Basic Life Support is required.     LANGUAGE :   Must be able to read and write English Ability to speak Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin) required   STATUS:   This is a FLSA Non-exempt position. This is an OSHA high-risk position.
