Position Summary: 

The Lab Assistant (Phlebotomist) PRN plays a crucial role in the healthcare services industry by ensuring the accurate collection and processing of blood samples for diagnostic testing. This position is essential for maintaining the quality and integrity of laboratory results, which directly impacts patient care and treatment decisions. The Lab Assistant will work closely with healthcare professionals to facilitate efficient patient interactions and ensure a positive experience during sample collection. Additionally, this role involves adhering to strict safety and hygiene protocols to protect both patients and staff. Ultimately, the Lab Assistant contributes to the overall effectiveness of the healthcare team by providing reliable and timely laboratory support.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program.
• Current certification in phlebotomy from a recognized organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a clinical laboratory or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and regulations.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities:

• Perform venipunctures and capillary collections on patients of all ages, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Label and process blood samples accurately, following established protocols and procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory workspace, including equipment and supplies.
• Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members regarding procedures and results.
