At AFC Urgent Care Brockton, we believe great urgent care starts with a great team. We're looking for an experienced Lead Medical Assistant to set the standard on the clinical floor: someone who is as strong at teaching and organizing as they are at patient care, and who takes pride in a clinic that runs smoothly for patients and staff alike.
What You'll Do
- Lead our medical assistant team day to day: set MA assignments, keep patient flow moving, and adjust coverage for call-outs with the Practice Manager
- Train and precept new MAs and co-op students, help interview and onboard new hires, and serve as the go-to resource for clinical workflows
- Room patients and obtain vitals, medical history, and reason for visit
- Perform point-of-care testing, phlebotomy, EKGs, injections and immunizations, wound care, and splinting, and assist providers with procedures
- Perform drug screen collections and support our occupational medicine services, including DOT physicals
- Run lab quality controls and keep daily logs and checklists current (temperatures, QC, equipment checks, expiration dates) so the clinic is always inspection-ready
- Keep exam rooms, supplies, and inventory stocked and organized
- Partner with the Practice Manager and Medical Director on onboarding, compliance training, and quality improvement
What You Bring
- Current medical assistant certification (CCMA, CMA, or RMA)
- BLS certification
- 3+ years of medical assistant experience, ideally in urgent care or another fast-paced clinical setting
- Experience leading, training, or precepting other medical assistants
- Prior AFC experience strongly preferred; Experity EMR experience a plus
- DOT specimen collector certification a plus
- Bilingual a plus (Haitian Creole, Cape Verdean Creole, Portuguese, or Spanish)
- Calm under pressure, highly organized, and a clear, kind communicator with patients and coworkers
