Materials Laboratory Technician - Colorado
Twining Consulting, an innovative laboratory specializing in analysis of construction materials such as concrete and aggregate for more than 20 years, is seeking a skilled, reliable Materials Laboratory Technician to join our growing company in Boulder, Colorado.
Responsibilities will include the following:
- Photographing of concrete and rock samples.
- Preparation of concrete and rock samples for petrographic examination.
- Performance of chemical analysis of concrete samples.
- Storing, organizing and disposal of samples.
- Ability to learn to use and properly operate equipment such as cameras, lapidary grinding and polishing tools, saws, and thin section equipment.
- Understanding of the importance of workshop and laboratory safety protocols and the implementation of such protocols.
- Maintenance of clean workspaces and clean equipment.
Requirements:
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Possession of basic workshop and maintenance skills.
- Ease, familiarity, and safe operation of power tools and saws.
- Strong detail-oriented mindset.
- Excellent organization skills.
- Basic computer skills involving word processing, spread sheets and basic photographic editing.
- Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Positive attitude and work ethic.
- Able to work independently or as an active member of a team.
