Who you are:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Front Office Receptionist / Medical Administrative Assistant for a full-time role in our Medical Department. As a key member of the health care team, the Medical Front Office Receptionist provides essential clerical, scheduling, and communication support to Medical and Nursing staff while upholding strict confidentiality and professionalism. The Medical Administrative Assistant/Receptionist will:
- Perform daily opening and closing procedures
- Greet patients promptly and courteously, verify patient demographics
- Schedule, coordinate, and reschedule appointments
- Manage the waiting area and patient flow
- Respond to calls/faxes, route messages, and follow emergency procedures
- Communicate with medical staff about schedule changes or urgent issues
- Collect copays and process payments
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA
- Interact with patients and staff in a considerate and helpful manner
- Draft and type memos and correspondence for the Medical Director
- Prepare reports for Board and program meetings
- Maintain administrative files and electronic records
- Prioritize calls and relay information to the Medical Director
- Compile monthly patient counts and requested statistics
- Report problems or issues to the Medical Director
- Adhere to MACT policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
What you need:
- At least one year of front office medical experience
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Current BLS/ALS certificate
- Must pass Occupational Health Screening.
- Must possess a valid form of identification as listed on the U.S. Department of Justice I-9 form, verified using the E Verify system.
- Clean DMV driving record and MACT auto insurance driving eligibility (determined by auto insurance carrier).
The position requires an awareness and keen appreciation of American Indian traditions, customs, and socioeconomic needs and the ability at all times to meet and deal effectively in contacts with Indian health organizations which requires tact, courtesy, discretion, resourcefulness and good judgment in handling functions of a sensitive nature.
