Full job details
Constella Care supports people with serious mental illness by providing comprehensive care and connecting them to the resources they need to build healthier, more stable lives. We are hiring a full-time Medical Assistant in Louisville, Kentucky, to support our first care pod.
This role combines front-office coordination, clinical support, and day-to-day office organization. You will help create a welcoming, reliable experience for members while partnering closely with the nurse practitioner, licensed clinical social worker, community health workers, medical assistant colleagues, and remote psychiatrist.
What you'll do
• Welcome members, support check-in, answer phones, schedule visits, and help keep the front desk organized.
• Room members, obtain vital signs, reconcile medications and allergies, and prepare accurate information for the clinical team.
• Support referrals, records, labs, follow-up, and care coordination.
• Document visits and other activities accurately and on time in the EHR.
• Coordinate supplies, workflows, and light office-management needs so the pod runs smoothly.
• Communicate clearly with the care team and help identify concerns early.
• Treat every member with empathy, respect, and a trauma-informed, nonjudgmental approach.
What we're looking for
• Medical Assistant experience or training preferred.
• Comfort working with adults who may be living with serious mental illness, homelessness, substance-use challenges, or other complex needs.
• Strong organization, follow-through, communication, and confidentiality.
• Comfort using an EHR, phone, laptop, and basic documentation tools.
• Ability to work on-site in Louisville and collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Clinical support: phlebotomy, rooming, vital signs, medication reconciliation, and preparing members for visits.
• Front-office support: check-in, phones, scheduling, records, referrals, and member communication.
• Office coordination: ordering supplies, organizing workflows, keeping the pod running smoothly, and helping coordinate other MAs as the team grows.
Experience as an office manager, lead Medical Assistant, or in supervising or coordinating MAs is a plus. This role is designed for someone who is comfortable with both front- and back-office responsibilities.
