We are currently in search of an experienced Medical Assistant (Certified or registered preferred) who likes to connect with people and has a compassionate outlook for our Centerville location.
Centerville Family Practice & Rheumatology, like all Providence Medical Group primary care practices, is a recognized Patient-Centered Medical Home, and focuses on building lasting patient relationships based on trust and continuity of care.
What you will do:
- Room patients. Measure and record vital signs such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration.
- Complete patient interview and history.
- Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures. Assist with procedures as ordered by provider.
- May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
- Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
- Collect samples such as blood, urine and sputum from patients, and perform routine laboratory tests on samples.
- Administrative/clerical duties as required
Skills:
- Experience working as a Medical Assistant in a physicians office
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; dependable attendance.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of medical procedures, equipment, and instruments
- Ability to draw blood
- Proficiency in medical terminology, computer skills and HIPAA compliance
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Certificate from a Medical Assisting Program. State or national certification preferred.
