Overview
The Medical Assistant I maintains department patient care supplies, ensures timely flow of patients, and assists physicians and nurses to provide optimal care to patients and families.Responsibilities
Perform a variety of routine direct patient care duties to assist medical and nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients. Maintains patient care environment and supplies to ensure patient privacy and safety. Pre-visit telephone reminder calls to remind patients of upcoming appointments. Obtain vital signs on patients age 0-21 to include weight, height, blood pressure, pulse ox, pulse. Assist with monitoring of autism patients until MD in room as needed. Complete medication reconciliation in office of all medication and over the counter medications that the patient may be taking Ensure paperwork is complete and available for upcoming patient appointments - to include Vanderbilt forms, referral forms, developmental testing as ordered by provider.Qualifications
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)American Heart Association (AHA), Education: H.S. Diploma/GED (Required), Work Experience:Carle Health Company Overview
