RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the physician assistant and/or technologist with the daily functions of the Clinic and provide general administrative support to the department. This is a fulltime position working Monday-Friday between the hours of 7:00am-5:00pm (8-hour shifts) at our Blaine, Plymouth and Edina centers; traveling to other locations throughout the metro as needed (Burnsville, Shakopee, St Louis Park, and Woodbury).

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(50%) Patient Care

  1. Greet patients and escort them to the exam room
  2. Take and record patient vitals and temperature
  3. Assist technologist or physician assistant (PA) in the room as needed
  4. Enter patients’ past medical information and provider orders into RIS, locate previous medical records, and schedule patient appointments for the follow-up clinic
  5. Communicate directly with Supervisor regarding patient medications and possible contra-indications
  6. Start patient IVs
  7. Perform phlebotomies
  8. Assist with procedures, including preparing and maintaining sterile field, as well as sterilize instruments following procedures
  9. Administer oral and injectable medications and assist with oral sedation

(45%) Administrative Support

  1. Monitor the clinic’s patient schedule, assist with managing add-on appointments and follow up appointments
  2. Facilitate the patient flow, with direction from Supervisor
  3. Discharge the patients from the clinic with appropriate information and documentation
  4. Call or fax patient prescriptions to the pharmacy
  5. Place follow-up phone calls to patients prescribed pain management medications or narcotics to check if additional treatment and/or a follow-up appointment is required
  6. Document all patient prep calls in RISLogic or aRies systems
  7. Assemble next day’s H&P paperwork at assigned location on a daily basis
  8. Manage all incoming phone calls from patients regarding past procedures or treatments, with guidance from the Supervisor
  9. Assist with prior authorizations
  10. Coordinate patient flow, with scheduling and front office, to fit in schedule add-ons
  11. Maintain office supplies within department and stockroom
  12. Assist with cleaning exam rooms
  13. Provide daily updates to the Supervisor regarding individual work schedule and completion of the day’s tasks, etc.

(5%) Performs other Duties as Assigned

 

Qualifications

Required:

  1. High school diploma, or equivalent
  2. Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant education program
  3. Certification as a Medical Assistant, current and in good standing
  1. Certification as a Phlebotomist in the appropriate state, if applicable (i.e. California, Louisiana, Nevada, Washington, etc.)
  1. Certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  2. One (1) year experience using Microsoft Office Suite; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  3. Travel is required between sites; a reliable means of transportation is required
  1. Valid driver’s license and proof of current insurance is required for the team member to personally drive a vehicle for company business (regardless of whether it’s a company or personal vehicle)

Preferred:

  1. One (1) year of Medical Assistant work experience
  2. Healthcare experience in radiologic procedures and medications
  3. Bilingual
