Medical Assistant- Front & Back (AGHA)

Sante Health System is encouraging all Medical Assistants (Front and Back) in the Fresno, CA area to apply to join our team full-time. In this medical assisting position, you would provide top-notch customer service both in-person and over the phone and assist our physicians with delivering primary health care to our patients.

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma/GED equivalent
• Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants
• Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and verbal, is required to effectively communicate with Spanish-speaking patients and support the delivery of patient care.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Prepare patients for examination and treatment. Take patient vital signs.
2. Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.
3. Give injections, apply splints and dressings.
4. Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
5. Register and log incoming referrals.
6. Facilitate and log out going referrals.
7. Patient check in, check out and eligibility verification.
8. Communicate and collect copayments and/or balances.
9. Follow office scheduling policies.
10. Prepare charts for upcoming appointments.
11. Complete appointment confirmations
12. Mail After Visit Summaries (AVS).
13. Obtains insurance authorizations for office appointments.
14. Relay provider communications to patients by phone or mail.
15. Provide general information on departmental policies and procedures.
16. Maintain patient files, records and other information.
17. Compile and condense technical and statistical data for reports and records.
18. Backup surgery scheduling and procedure authorization.
19. Attend required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
20. Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
21. Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
22. Follow all MA competencies.
