The North Dodge/Holiday Road Pediatrics Clinics (70-100%25) and North Dodge Pediatrics Healthy Weight Clinic (50-100%25) are seeking Medical Assistants (MA II). These positions will mainly support our North Dodge/Holiday Road Peds Clinics or our North Dodge Pediatric Healthy Weight Clinic but could float to other patient specialties/clinic locations.

Summary: 

Under direct supervision of LIP (licensed independent practitioner), RN (registered nurse), NM/ANM (nurse manager/assistant nurse manager) or other licensed designee, functions as a member of the patient care team.  Performs technical, patient care and related clerical functions in the urgent care setting by coordinating all elements of the patient visit.

Duties to include:

• Staff will support our Pediatric Clinic patients.
• Under direct supervision of physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or registered nurse.
• Performs technical, patient care and related clerical functions in an ambulatory setting.
• Duties may involve the use of electronic word/data processing equipment and/or conventional office equipment.

General Pediatrics Clinic

Percent of Time: 70-100%25 (28-40 hours per week)

Schedule: Variable hours Monday - Friday between 7:30 am - 7:00 pm. Standard hours will be 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, limited, rotating weekends, no holidays or on-call time.

Location: Coralville, IA (or surround clinics based on clinical need or hours)

Pedicatric Healthy Weight Clinic

Percent of Time: 50-100%25 (20-40 hours per week)

Schedule: Variable hours Monday - Friday between 7:30 am - 5:00 pm, no weekends.

Location: Coralville, IA (or surround clinics based on clinical need or hours)

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

• Certification OR registration as a Medical Assistant OR completion of a recognized one-year Medical Assistant Program, OR Completion of a health care profession program with a curriculum incorporating elements of a Medical Assistant program including but not limited to: pathophysiology, medical terminology, basic pharmacology and medication administration including dose calculation and psychology.

Special Qualification/License:

• Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards. 
• Demonstrated excellent written/verbal communication.

Highly Desired Requirements

• Previous EPIC experience.
• Previous Pediatric Clinic experience.

Desirable Qualifications

• Ability to demonstrate teamwork, collaboration, and autonomy in all aspects of the role.
• Previous immunization experience.
