Job Description

SHIFT HOURS: 

2 x 12 hours shift and 1 x 8 hours shift 

Mon 8am-8pm

Thurs 8am-8pm

Fri 8am-5pm

One Sat a month 8 am - 12 pm 

Location: 39450 W 12 Mile Rd, Novi, MI 48377

GENERAL SUMMARY: As a Medical Assistant in our Walk-in Clinic, you'll be the vital link between our patients and clinical team. Working under the direction of our providers and nursing leadership, you'll deliver compassionate, high-quality care by performing a dynamic mix of administrative and clinical responsibilities. You'll make a real difference every day by creating welcoming patient experiences and supporting our clinical team in delivering excellent care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Welcome patients and guide them through their clinic experience with warmth and professionalism
• Obtain comprehensive medical histories and engage patients in meaningful conversations about their health concerns
• Measure, record, and communicate vital signs accurately to support clinical decision-making
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures with clear communication and compassionate support
• Collaborate with providers during patient examinations and procedures, anticipating needs and ensuring smooth workflows
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in our Electronic Medical Record system
• Support the clinical team in delivering efficient, patient-centered care in a fast-paced ambulatory setting

Qualifications

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

We're seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented professional ready to make an immediate impact in a fast-paced clinical environment. Here's what will set you up for success:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

You bring one of the following qualifications:

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hours minimum), OR
• Graduate from a Medical Assistant program with a minimum of one year of hands-on clinical medical assisting experience within the past five years, OR
• Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with at least one year of clinical medical assisting experience, OR
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), OR
• Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one year of clinical experience in a medical setting within the past five years, OR
• Military-trained medical personnel with at least one year of clinical experience in a medical setting within the past five years

CORE COMPETENCIES:

To thrive in this role, you'll demonstrate:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills that build trust with patients and colleagues
• Strong problem-solving abilities and clinical judgment
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems—EPIC experience is a plus
• Solid computer skills and keyboarding ability
• Ability to perform a diverse range of clinical skills in an ambulatory care setting
• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSURES:

Current BLS-C certification required upon hire, or successful completion by the end of your orientation period.
