As a Medical Office Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting our physicians and helping ensure a positive experience for examinees. Responsibilities include preparing examination rooms, assisting with patient preparation, and supporting physicians during examinations as needed.
What to expect:
Up to 30-32 hours per week
Primarily Monday through Thursday, with occasional Fridays
Typical hours are 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, with some half-day schedules depending on physician availability
Flexible schedule based on clinic needs and provider schedules
Onsite position located at 1090 Elm Street, Suite 105, Rocky Hill, CT 06067

Responsibilities may include:
Route examinee to appropriate room.
Review chart and verify examinee information is available for examining physician
When necessary, chaperon examinations with female examinees or as requested by physician.
Responsible for set-up and cleanliness of exam rooms and report any issues or maintenance needs to management
Maintain a smooth flow of examinations to ensure appointments are kept on schedule.
Secure patient information and maintain patient confidentiality by completing and safeguarding medical records.
Ensure all practices are carried out in accordance with state and federal safety and legal regulations.
Perform clerical duties such as typing, filing, emailing, and proofreading as required.
Promote effective and efficient utilization of clinical resources and supplies.
Participate in various educational and or training activities as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required. A minimum of six months on the job experience in a medical office or related field preferred.
Must have adequate knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, medications and laboratory values.
Must possess knowledge of general computer, fax, copier, scanner, and telephone.
Must be knowledgeable of multiple software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and the Internet.
Ability to follow instructions and respond to managements’ directions accurately.
Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness. Looks for ways to improve and promote quality and monitors own work to ensure quality is met.
Must demonstrate exceptional communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively and asking questions where clarification is needed.
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize work activities and use time efficiently.
Ability to travel daily as the position requires.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Must be able to demonstrate and promote a positive team -oriented environment.
Must be able to stay focused and concentrate under normal or heavy distractions.
Must be able to work well under pressure and or stressful conditions.
Must possess the ability to manage change, delays, or unexpected events appropriately.
