Responsibilities & Requirements

The Medical Office Assistant Float supports patient care, safety, and access by performing administrative tasks in a medical office or outpatient setting. This role ensures efficient front office operations, accurate recordkeeping, and a welcoming environment for patients and visitors. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.

Required Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Required Work Experience:

None required
experience in a healthcare or medical office setting preferred.

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations:

None required at hire.

Basic computer proficiency, including use of electronic health record (EHR) systems
strong written and verbal communication
attention to detail
ability to multitask and prioritize
customer service orientation
basic understanding of medical terminology
ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Education:

Completion of a medical assisting or medical office administration program from an accredited institution.

Preferred Work Experience:

One year of experience in a medical office, outpatient clinic, or healthcare administrative support role.
