The MRI Tech 1 arranges patients for Magnetic Resonance examinations. Working under the guidance of MRI Tech 2 or above produces MR images to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems. MRI technologist monitors and ensures safety of patient and all personnel prior to entering magnetic area. Performs patient screening by using established protocols for any ferrous materials and medical device history and for safe administration of contrast media. Uses pre-established imaging protocols and departmental policy to perform safe operation of imaging equipment and all functions of the job. Provides complete pre and post education to patients and family. Reports to Manager or Supervisor.

- Assistance is provided to the physician in performing a variety of examinations using standard department protocols, isolation precautions and/or sterile technique, as evidenced by physician's satisfaction.

Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of an accredited Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) program or Radiologic Technology program
Licensure/Certifications:
American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) or
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R)
Louisiana State Radiologic Technology (LSRT) license (or current temporary license)
Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP)
