Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential.
• Experience or training specific to ophthalmic surgical procedures.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working as a scrub tech in an ophthalmology or eye surgery setting.
• Advanced certifications related to surgical technology or ophthalmic procedures.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems used in surgical environments.
• Strong knowledge of ophthalmic surgical instruments and equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare the operating room by setting up sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies specific to ophthalmic surgeries.
• Assist the surgical team by passing instruments and supplies during procedures while maintaining strict aseptic technique.
• Ensure all surgical instruments are properly sterilized, inspected, and accounted for before and after each procedure.
