Department Details

Monday - Friday position with day shift hours. Work primarily 8 hour shifts. Minocqua is a fantastic place to work and has opportunity to work with a team that provides excellent patient care. Willing to train the right person on the job with no experience, but experience is preferred.

Summary

Uses equipment to collect samples of blood and other fluids from patients/residents; explains procedures to patients/residents and collects information from them in a professional manner.

Job Description

Collects and manages samples of blood and specimens from patients/residents; ensures patient/resident safety during the sample collection process. Records and documents patient/resident information accurately. Follows all standard procedures and safety regulations; deploys asepsis techniques during phlebotomy procedures. Communicates with patients/residents, collecting their health information and answering their questions regarding phlebotomy procedures.

Qualifications

High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) required.



Completion of a formal phlebotomy program, phlebotomy experience, and experience in a laboratory-related field preferred. May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
