Full job details
Typical duties for a phlebotomist may include, but is not limited to, the following:
- Performing phlebotomy according to established procedure
- Identify patients and properly label specimen tubes
- Determine priority of STAT draws and ensure timely transport of all patient specimens for testing
- Registers, orders, and accessions specimens utilizing lab and hospital information systems
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in written form
- Ensure the efficient operation of the lab as a whole
