Full job details
The Phlebotomist is responsible for providing the most accurate and concise test specimen as technically possible. Phlebotomists must be knowledgeable in recognizing if particular specimens have been correctly collected by different departments, as well as being quite proficient in performing venipuncture for blood samples. Phlebotomists must have the necessary minimum knowledge skills to provide basic services to patients and customers of all ages. Phlebotomists must maintain a professional disposition at all times when taking care of patients. Phlebotomist collects venous and capillary blood specimens from patient, urine/timed urine specimen collection, DOT and NON-DOT urine drug collection, plates culture specimens to appropriate media, performs waived testing, and performs various office and clerical duties of the department including answering the phone and faxing reports.
Shift: Monday-Friday with rotating weekends and holidays Hours: Varies.
Requirements:
- Working to obtain high school diploma or equivalent. Phlebotomy licensure preferred.
- Clinical experience preferred, but not required.
- May be required to work any day of the week including holidays and weekends, or other shifts.
