🕒 Full-Time | 40 Hours/Week
📋 Quality & Population Health
🩺 Medical Assistant Certification Required
If you're an experienced Medical Assistant who notices the details, likes figuring out what's missing, and wants to help improve care for more than one patient at a time, this could be a great next step.
Greater Seacoast Health is looking for a Quality Improvement Medical Assistant to join our Quality and Population Health team in Somersworth.
This isn't your typical MA position.
Instead of spending every day in an exam room, you'll use your clinical knowledge to help identify and close care gaps, review patient charts and registries, support preventive and chronic disease management, and help our teams improve quality outcomes across the organization.
You'll still be a Medical Assistant — but you'll have an opportunity to use that experience in a different way.
💙 What You'll Do
You'll work closely with our Quality and Population Health team to help make sure patients are receiving the preventive and ongoing care they need.
Your work will include:
- Reviewing and auditing patient charts to identify care gaps and opportunities for patient outreach
- Maintaining and reviewing patient registries for preventive care and chronic disease management
- Supporting population health and value-based care initiatives
- Helping track and improve clinical quality measures and outcomes
- Reviewing payer information and working within payer portals to identify and close quality gaps
- Participating in payer meetings and helping maximize quality improvement opportunities
- Supporting audits and follow-up related to quality improvement activities
- Helping educate staff, providers, and residents on quality measures and improvement efforts
- Participating in Continuous Quality Improvement, Chronic Disease, and Risk Management activities
- Occasionally providing Medical Assistant coverage in Primary Care when needed
🔎 This Could Be a Great Fit If You...
Are the MA who catches the missing detail.
You notice when something doesn't look right in a chart. You follow up instead of assuming someone else will handle it. You're comfortable working with clinical information, tracking details, and staying organized when there are multiple priorities.
You also enjoy understanding why something is being done — not just completing the task.
This position could be a strong next step if you want to use your Medical Assistant experience to become more involved in quality improvement, population health, preventive care, chronic disease management, and healthcare outcomes.
🎓 What You'll Need
Required:
- Medical Assistant certification in New Hampshire
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate clearly with providers, clinical staff, and other members of the organization
- Ability to work independently while also being part of a collaborative team
- Comfort working with electronic records, clinical information, and data
Preferred:
- Previous quality improvement experience
- Experience in an FQHC or community health setting
- Experience with population health, care-gap closure, chart auditing, patient registries, or value-based care
📍 Where You'll Work
Somersworth, New Hampshire
This position is part of our Quality and Population Health team and is scheduled for 40 hours per week.
You may occasionally provide Medical Assistant coverage in Primary Care, and occasional travel to off-site meetings or alternate work locations may be required.
🌟 Why This Role Is Different
As a Medical Assistant, you already know how much happens behind every patient visit.
This role gives you the opportunity to look at the bigger picture.
Instead of focusing only on the patient in front of you, you'll help identify patients who may be overdue for preventive care, need follow-up for a chronic condition, or have a gap in their care that might otherwise be missed.
Your work will help our clinical teams improve care across entire patient populations.
💵 Compensation
$23.50–$32.50 per hour, based on experience and certification.
