Job DetailsJob Location: Seneca Healthcare District - Chester, CA 96020Education Level: 2 Year DegreeSalary Range: $44.47 - $62.10 HourlyJob Shift: AnySummary General Radiography Operates imaging equipment to make images of designated portions of body as ordered by the physician.  Positions and instructs the patient for radiological or fluoroscopic examinations. Adjusts imaging equipment and determines the proper voltage, current and desired exposure time for each image. Computerized Axial Tomography (CT) Provides computerized axial tomographic services to patients as ordered by physician according to established standards and practices with adherence to CT exam protocols. Essential Functions General Radiography Instructs and prepares the patient, selects appropriate equipment and technical factors, determines most suitable anatomical positions and shields patients according to radiation safety procedures. Images designated/order anatomical portions of the body. Arrange, attach or adjust immobilization and supportive devices such as sandbags, binders, and angle boards to obtain precise position, prevent patients from moving and lessen discomfort. May prepare and administer IV, oral/rectal contrast for patient examinations. Assists in performing sterile technique procedures as required. May perform fluoroscopy and invasive procedures under the direct supervision of the Radiologist. May train and evaluate Radiological Technologist I and II. Computerized Axial Tomography (CT) Instructs and prepares the patient for CT examinations. Prepares equipment and supplies as needed for each study; checks calibrating equipment and recalibrates as necessary. Positions patient to demonstrate/image clinical care of interest. Adjusts and operates CT equipment to scan designated anatomical areas. Monitors patient’s safety and comfort; records all required information. Produced post-processing reconstructions as required by exam protocols or radiologist requests Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of the use of Digital Radiography and CT with facilitation of image QC and functional use of PACS. Generalized knowledge of the concepts and application of ALARA and Image Gently to ensure maximum radiation dose optimization and safety. Knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging best practices and the ability to optimize department processes and protocols Ability to speak in a clear, pleasant and understandable manner and to write legibly using correct spelling, language and punctuation skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, employees, physicians, and officials in other departments Ability to maintain neat, legible and organized written records. Ability to learn new procedures, protocols and assignments within a reasonable time-frame, retain the knowledge and maintain awareness of changes. Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with patients, visitors, physicians and co-workers. Ability to treat patients, visitors, physicians and co-workers with courtesy and respect Ability to maintain a high quality of patient care at all times and in all circumstances. Ability to be available for on-call and stand-by status when scheduled. QualificationsQualifications General Radiography o AA or AS Degree in Radiology or graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography. Valid and current certification by the State of California required.   American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT) preferred.  Fluoroscopy permit preferred. Computerized Axial Tomography (CT) o AA or AS Degree in Radiology or graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography.  Valid and current certification by the State of California required. Minimum Three (3) years Digital Radiography and CT experience including CT Angiography and Post processing reconstruction required.  Experience with Siemens CT scanners preferred.
