Radiology Tech Aide
Job Summary:
The Radiology Tech Aide is responsible for helping maintain patient flow within the Radiology Dept and assists the imaging staff in preparing for the imaging procedure.
Duties:
Duties:
- Clerical duties include answering phones. Communicates delays to patients/ families. Transports patient to the Radiology Dept.
- Assists with transferring of patients from wheelchairs, stretchers, and bed onto the patient imaging table using safe patient handling equipment.
- Cleans rooms and stocks supplies to ensure the dept is prepared and ready for use.
- Interacts with staff and co-workers in a manner that promotes positive working relationships.
- Utilizes EPIC to communicate within the ED if patient is ready for imaging study and has completed imaging study.
- Positions the patient to ensure patient comfort.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Skills: Must be able to understand directions and be able to communicate and respond to inquiries. Requires effective interpersonal skills.
Certification: Must be CPR certified.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in the radiography program
- Prior patient care experience
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to see, hear and move intermittently, or use prosthetics that will enable you to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
- Must be able to move about the facility and between workstations, standing, walking and lifting as required by position.
- May require irregular hours and will result in occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquires.
- Must be able to tolerate possible exposure to electrical hazards, blood borne pathogens and bodily fluids.
Personal Protective Equipment: May be required to wear mask, glove, gown. Possible exposure to infectious and contagious disease, chemicals, toxic substances, and bloodborne pathogens from blood and/or bodily fluids.
