Registered Radiology Technologist

Radiology Technologists use x-ray equipment to obtain images of the body interpreted by a Radiologist and are responsible for preparing patients for the exam, moving and instructing the patient into the proper position, correctly operating the equipment and obtaining a high-quality image while minimizing radiation dose to the patient. Radiology Technologists may specialize in more specific imaging techniques such as bone densitometry, cardiovascular-interventional radiography, computer tomography, mammography, magnetic resonance imaging and nuclear medicine. Come be a part of a great team that will allow you to advance your skills each day. 

A PRN caregiver in this position works variable days and hours. No weekends will be required. 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

• Perform general radiology exams, portable exams and fluoroscopic procedures.  

• Produce quality images for interpretation with accuracy and without delay.  

• Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.  

• Ensure patient comfort and safety during and after the exam.  

• Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.  

• Maintain documentation.  

• Address equipment malfunctions, notify management and report malfunctions to the help desk and PACS administrator.  

• Assist with scheduling procedures, monitor and determine priority of patients and process billing.  

• Provide instruction and mentoring to new hires and Radiology students. 

• Potentially rotate through all diagnostic imaging modalities, sites and/or locations. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology  

• Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and in good standing  

• Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist  

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross 

• Knowledge of anatomy and related pathologic processes 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

• One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist
