Registered Respiratory Therapist

POSITION SUMMARY:

Management of respiratory patients of all ages. Ventilator care, arterial blood gas punctures, intubation, medication treatments, routine cleaning, and stocking equipment.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• A.A.S. degree in Respiratory Therapy. 
• Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• A minimum of three years of respiratory care experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Current BLS provider certification from the American Heart Association. 
• Current PALS provider certification from the American Heart Association within one year of hire.
• Current NRP provider certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Heart Association within 1 (one) year of hire.
• Ability to work unsupervised. 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor of Science Degree.
• Five  years of respiratory care experience as a Respiratory Therapist.

As part of employment at Southampton Hospital, there may be occasions when travel to other locations is needed to support operational needs.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established based on relevant experience.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents SBSH’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Prior to start date, the selected candidate must meet the following requirements: 

Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s Employee Health Services*

• Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
• Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen*
• Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings.
• Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).

Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.
