Research Lab Technician I

• Performing routine molecular and biochemical laboratory procedures, including PCR and Immunoassay-based protein measurements
• Assisting with processing, preparation, and analysis of biological samples
• Performing cell/tissue culture procedures, as appropriate to individual projects
• Preparing buffers, reagents, standards, and other materials required for experiments
• Collecting, organizing, documenting, and performing basic analysis of experimental data
• Maintaining accurate and well-organized laboratory records
• Assisting with routine laboratory operations, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining laboratory organization
• Following established laboratory protocols and applicable environmental health and safety requirements
• Working collaboratively with the principal investigator and other members of the research team

As the candidate gains experience, there will be opportunities to develop greater technical independence and participate more broadly in ongoing research projects.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, neuroscience, immunology,

- Previous laboratory experience through undergraduate research, employment, internships, or other research training

- Familiarity with basic molecular biology and biochemical laboratory techniques

- Experience with one or more of the following is desirable but not required:

• PCR and related molecular biology techniques
• Protein analysis and immunoassays
• Cell or tissue culture
• Biological sample processing
• Basic quantitative data analysis
• Experience with Luminex xMAP technology is a plus but is not required
• Basic computer and data-management skills
