Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Respiratory Therapist you will help to provide and coordinate high quality respiratory therapy upon the order of a licensed physician to promote the health and recovery of patients served by the St. Alexius Medical Center.

Everyday you will use Respiratory Therapy Protocols to develop therapeutic goals and formulate care plans for patients. You will provide life-enhancing, life-supporting quality care to the elderly, adult, adolescent, children and infant patient populations.

To be successful in this role you will perform basic respiratory therapies, including but are not limited to; aerosol therapy, bronchial hygiene, volume expansion, oxygen therapy, diagnostics, patient/family education, invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation, and patient transport. Drawing, analyzing and reporting results from arterial, venous, capillary and spinal fluid samples for Point of Care testing.

Responsibilities:

• Actively participates in Respiratory Therapy Department Meetings
• Explain treatment procedures to patients to gain cooperation and allay fears
• Works as a physician extender to assess, manage, treat and perform diagnostic/therapeutic evaluation of patients with cardiopulmonary conditions
• Educate patients and their families about their conditions and teach appropriate disease management techniques and the use of medications and respiratory therapy equipment
• Uses Respiratory Therapy Protocols to develop therapeutic goals and formulate care plans for patients

$30,000 Sign On Bonus for those eligible

Job Requirements

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited/AMA certified School of Respiratory Therapy.  An Associate/Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy is preferred.
• Licensed with the North Dakota State Board of Respiratory Care.
