Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Full time and Part time

About the Role:

As a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) working full time or part time within the healthcare and social assistance industry, you will play a critical role in assessing, treating, and caring for patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders. Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes by providing respiratory care through therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. This role requires you to operate specialized respiratory equipment, monitor patient progress, and adjust treatments as necessary to ensure optimal respiratory function. Ultimately, your work will contribute to improving patients' quality of life and supporting their recovery in a variety of clinical settings across the United States.

WE NEED

1 Full time - NOC Shift

1 Part time - AM Shift

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current and valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• State licensure or certification to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in the United States.
• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred or required depending on the facility.
• Demonstrated ability to perform respiratory care procedures and operate related equipment safely and effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in acute care, critical care, or emergency department settings.
• Additional certifications such as Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and healthcare documentation software.
• Strong communication and patient education skills to support diverse patient populations.
• Continuing education or specialized training in pulmonary rehabilitation or sleep disorders.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients’ respiratory status and develop treatment plans based on physician orders and patient needs.
• Administer respiratory therapies including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, chest physiotherapy, and mechanical ventilation support.
• Monitor and document patient responses to treatments and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Operate and maintain respiratory care equipment, ensuring safety and compliance with healthcare standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care and participate in patient education regarding respiratory health.
• Respond promptly to respiratory emergencies and provide critical care interventions as needed.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with regulatory and institutional policies.

Skills:

The required skills enable the Respiratory Therapist to accurately assess patient respiratory conditions and deliver appropriate therapeutic interventions daily. Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting respiratory equipment ensures patient safety and treatment efficacy. Strong communication skills facilitate effective collaboration with healthcare teams and clear patient education, which is essential for treatment adherence and recovery. Preferred skills such as experience in critical care environments and additional certifications enhance the therapist’s ability to manage complex cases and emergencies. Familiarity with electronic medical records supports efficient documentation and compliance with healthcare regulations, streamlining workflow and improving patient care continuity.
