Senior Operations Manager - Specimen Processing

Cielo has been retained on behalf of Quest Diagnostics to identify an experienced operations leader to oversee a high-volume, fast-paced production environment. We're looking for someone who can drive consistency across every shift, ensuring results are received, sorted, and allocated accurately and on time. The ideal candidate brings a strong focus on quality and process improvement and knows how to develop and lead a tenured team, building on their experience while raising the bar. This is an excellent opportunity for a results-driven manager who thrives under pressure and knows how to build, lead, and retain large teams while driving continuous improvement.

This is a regional role based in the Tucker, GA lab and may require up to 25% regional travel.

Job Description

This position sits within a demanding, metric-driven operation where daily decision-making directly impacts throughput and service levels. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing competing priorities, leading large teams through change, and partnering closely with support functions to keep systems running smoothly.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• Production experience - Background in manufacturing or another high-throughput, high-pressure operating environment
• Automation & systems management -Recent, hands-on experience with automation and the daily management of systems and the support groups that maintain them
• Labor force management- Proven track record of successful staffing, retention, and workforce planning at scale
• Team leadership- Recent experience leading large teams

Preferred Qualifications

• LEAN / Continuous Improvement (CI) experience
• Science / Technology / Engineering background
