Summary of Position: Perform complete and focused echocardiographic examinations to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac conditions.
Functions of Position:
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures.
- Performs sonography procedures; obtains patient history.
- Maintains records of examination date and other pertinent information on patients.
- Checks equipment, supplies, and accessories on a regular basis.
- Maintains equipment in efficient operating order; contacts outside service for major malfunctions.
- Maintains order and cleanliness of work area.
- Positions and transports patients comfortably.
- Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
- Attend meetings as required.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of AMA approved school of Medical Imaging preferred.
- Graduate of CAHEA Accredited Program in Ultrasonography.
- Must be registered by ARDMS, ARRT, or equivalent organization within 1 year.
