Position Introduction:
Goddard Health Center, the ambulatory care facility on the Norman campus, is hiring a student employee to join our laboratory team. If you have a phlebotomy certification and are looking to gain valuable healthcare experience, consider applying today.
Students will work in the Goddard Health Center Laboratory doing a variety of tasks:
- Answer incoming phone calls
- Check patients into Medicat for Laboratory/Radiology appointments
- Schedule patients, if needed
- Restock supplies
- Daily and as needed cleaning of workspaces
- Make deliveries to other campus departments as needed
- Scan and file confidential records
- Fax lab results, if instructed
- Collect blood and/or swabs from patients following laboratory procedures
- Provide collection instructions to patients for self-collect samples
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when collecting samples
- Maintain patient privacy (HIPAA compliant)
- May assist in processing samples
- Other assistance/duties as required
Required Education and Experience:
Must be currently enrolled in the Fall Term as a student at the University of Oklahoma.
Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
