Location: Port St. Joe, FL
Facility: Ascension Sacred Heart Gulf
Department: Surgery
Schedule: Day Shift | PRN | Tuesday and Thursday 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. with call
How you'll make an impact in this role
Orchestrate the sterile operating environment by preparing surgical suites with precise sterile and non-sterile instrumentation, equipment, and supplies tailored to specific surgical cases.
Partner directly with surgical teams by seamlessly anticipating physician needs and handing instruments, sponges, and supplies during complex surgical procedures.
Maintain rigorous surgical safety and asset tracking by organizing instruments systematically and conducting precise, continuous counts throughout procedures to prevent retained surgical items.
Support patient safety and surgical access by assisting with patient preparation, transfer, positioning, and sterile draping, as well as aiding surgeons with intraoperative hemostasis.
What minimum qualifications you'll need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
What additional requirements you'll need
- Certified scrub tech or at least one year of experience
