Cataract & Laser Institute
Cataract & Laser Institute is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our surgical team. In this role, you will help provide a safe, efficient, and exceptional experience for patients undergoing ophthalmic procedures.

What You’ll Do
- Prepare operating rooms for ophthalmic surgical procedures.
- Select, assemble, and maintain surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Create and maintain a sterile field throughout each procedure.
- Anticipate the surgeon’s needs and pass instruments and supplies during surgery.
- Perform surgical counts and follow established safety protocols.
- Assist with patient positioning, room turnover, and preparation between procedures.
- Handle and label specimens according to established procedures.
- Clean, inspect, and prepare surgical instruments for sterilization.
- Monitor inventory and communicate supply or equipment needs.
- Follow infection-prevention, OSHA, HIPAA, and facility safety standards.
- Accurately complete required documentation.
- Work collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia providers, and other members of the surgical team.
- Help maintain a calm, supportive, and patient-centered environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred.
- Current Surgical Technologist certification preferred or required based on applicable state regulations.
- Current Basic Life Support certification or ability to obtain certification within the required timeframe.
- Previous operating room experience preferred.
- Ophthalmology or ambulatory surgery center experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of sterile technique, infection prevention, and surgical safety practices.
- Ability to remain organized and attentive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
