Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care for inpatients across NICU, PICU, Adult ICU, and general pediatric/adult units according to physician orders.
- Manage ventilator support, airway clearance techniques, suctioning, chest physiotherapy, aerosol therapies, and oxygen delivery; monitor patient response and adjust therapy as directed.
- Perform patient assessments, ABG interpretation, and administer therapies; document care accurately in the Epic EMR.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the multidisciplinary team; participate in rounds and care planning; communicate changes to the care plan.
- Adhere to credentialing and safety requirements, maintain RRT status (CRT not accepted), and keep required certifications current.
Requirements
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT); CRT not accepted
- AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS; NBRC verification; NRP
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years (nonnegotiable)
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Prior travel experience preferred
- Able to work 12-hour night shifts; weekends as needed; schedule flexibility
- Public transportation is not accessible; reliable transportation required
- All prior employment histories and specialties must be documented; complete work history details (EMR, bed count, facility type, etc.) to submit
