Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care per physician orders and established protocols, including routine therapies and ventilator support as needed
- Assess, monitor, and document patient status; adjust therapies in collaboration with the care team
- Administer prescribed treatments (nebulized medications, bronchodilators, humidification) and monitor patient response
- Perform arterial blood gases and related assessments as directed; document findings and communicate significant changes
- Manage and maintain equipment; perform safety checks and ensure proper infection control practices
- Document care accurately in the unit’s charting system (Meditech or paper charting as required) and communicate updates to nurses and physicians
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other therapists to optimize patient outcomes; adhere to the 2:1 patient-to-staff ratio
- Provide patient and family education regarding therapies and equipment as appropriate

Requirements
- Active nursing license per the state of assignment (per job notes)
- Education: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience: at least two years of recent experience in respiratory therapy
- Ability to work in a hospital setting with appropriate safety and infection control practices
- Vaccination policy: COVID vaccination is not required; flu vaccine or declination accepted; mask required if declining
