Location: San Francisco, CA 94105 — onsite employee health center
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM–4:30 PM Pacific Time
Employment: Full-time, W-2, non-exempt
Medical Assistant pay: $72,000–$80,000 per year
LVN pay: $80,000–$90,000 per year
Compensation within the applicable range is based on relevant experience and qualifications.
Benefits: 401(k), paid time off, paid sick leave, and a health insurance stipend
Start: As soon as possible
Bring your hands-on patient-care skills to an employee health center in a professional corporate workplace. You will support patients and help coordinate the details that keep the clinic running: patient flow, referrals, supplies, scheduling, and daily readiness.
This is one position with two qualification routes, not two separate vacancies. You do not need both Medical Assistant and LVN credentials. Strong, current phlebotomy skills and vaccine-administration competency are essential under either route. Clinical duties will be assigned within the selected candidate's training, competency, and applicable scope.
Why This Role
- A consistent full-time weekday schedule, rather than occasional PRN shifts.
- A professional outpatient setting serving employees within a corporate workplace.
- Hands-on patient care combined with meaningful responsibility for daily clinic operations.
- Opportunity to improve workflows and the patient experience.
- Convenient downtown access via BART, Muni, Transbay buses, ferry service, and Caltrain connections.
What You Will Do
- Welcome and room patients, obtain vital signs, and document intake information.
- Perform venipuncture, specimen collection and handling, point-of-care testing, and EKGs within documented competency.
- Administer vaccines under appropriate orders, authorization, and required supervision.
- Prepare examination rooms and assist licensed clinicians with permitted patient-care activities.
- Coordinate patient flow, appointments, referrals, follow-up records, and routine staffing logistics.
- Support PRN staff and new-hire onboarding with clinic workflows and site information.
- Track supplies, inventory, equipment, expiration dates, and vendor needs.
- Maintain accurate EHR documentation, follow-up lists, and operational records.
- Support team meetings and communicate staffing, supply, workflow, and patient-safety concerns promptly.
- Follow privacy, infection-control, and safety procedures and escalate matters outside your assigned scope.
Choose Your Qualification Route
Medical Assistant route — $72,000–$80,000: At least three years of Medical Assistant or comparable outpatient clinical experience; completion of Medical Assistant education or training meeting applicable California requirements; and demonstrated competency for assigned duties. CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, or another recognized Medical Assistant certification is welcomed. Previous lead, coordinator, site-operations, or similar experience is required.
LVN route — $80,000–$90,000: Active, unrestricted California Licensed Vocational Nurse license and at least three years of LVN clinical experience. Experience administering vaccines and medications within LVN scope is required. Previous clinical coordination, lead, operations, or similar clinic-support experience is strongly preferred.
Required for Either Route
- Strong, current hands-on phlebotomy experience and the ability to perform blood draws confidently without retraining, under the supervision applicable to your role.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Vaccine-administration experience and documentation of the training and competency required for assigned duties.
- Experience with patient intake, vital signs, specimen handling, EKGs, point-of-care testing, and routine clinical support.
- Experience with referrals, scheduling, patient follow-up, and front-office workflows.
- Strong organization, communication, patient-service, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfort with EHR systems and standard office technology.
- Ability to reliably commute to San Francisco, CA 94105 for the full scheduled shift.
Clinical Scope and Supervision
Medical Assistants perform permitted technical-support services within their documented training and competency. Injections and vaccine administration require appropriate written authorization and the legally required onsite supervision. Medical Assistants do not independently assess, diagnose, or make treatment decisions. LVNs work within their California license, applicable orders, and required clinical direction. The licensed clinical team retains responsibility for clinical decisions and supervision.
How to Apply
Apply through this posting with your resume and complete the application questions. Please make your clinical qualification, recent blood-draw experience, vaccine experience, and clinic-coordination background clear in your resume.
