We are seeking candidates for permanent employment in these positions.

 

We currently have openings for full-time Laboratory Assistants at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center located in Lebanon, NH! These positions are located in our Lab Specimen Receiving area:

 

This area of the lab is the heart of each section – every sample comes through here for triage, and the role of these lab assistants is to ensure the best sample is delivered and processed for testing. Customer service and multitasking are critical skills for this area. It’s fast-paced, and you’ll never be bored; if you are thinking of entering the lab as a career, this is a good place to see a little bit of everything.

 

Candidates for this position need to have obtained their HS Diploma or GED, with some college coursework and previous laboratory experience preferred.  We are seeking candidates with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability and desire to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment. We provide on-the-job training for all of our open positions. Our laboratory team is a high-functioning, dedicated group of professionals who work diligently to the highest possible standards.

 

We currently have the following position(s) available:

  • Full-time, 40-hour/week day-shift position working Monday through Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.
  • Full-time, 40-hour/week evening-shift working Monday through Friday, 12:00 pm - 8:30 pm.  We pay a 10% shift differential for the evening shift.
  • Full-time, 40-hour/week night-shift working Friday through Monday, 7:00 pm - 5:30 am.  We pay a 20% shift differential for the night shift.

Weekends and holidays are shared on a rotation basis with the team, and coverage is expected approximately every 6 weeks, including holidays on rotation.  There is a 15% shift differential for weekend shifts.  Please indicate your desired shifts on your application.

 

DHMC and Clinics are offering a $5,000 sign-on/retention bonus for this position.  *External applicants only, and certain conditions apply.

 

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Performs functions related to demographic data, test requisitioning, labels and reports. Processes specimens.
  • Obtains blood specimens from patients. Obtains specimen requirement information.
  • Operates the pneumatic tube system (PTS) to ensure timely delivery of laboratory specimens.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

    • Qualifications

    • High school graduate required.
    • Coursework toward a college degree preferred.
    • Previous laboratory experience preferred.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast paced, demanding environment required.
