Coastal Health is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and motivated Medical Assistant to join our primary care team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent patient care, work well with providers and staff, and help ensure the daily flow of the office runs efficiently.
Responsibilities
Greet and room patients in a professional and welcoming manner
Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical history, and medication information
Assist providers with examinations and procedures
Prepare patients for examinations and treatments
Perform injections and other clinical tasks within scope of practice
Collect and process specimens as needed
Perform EKGs and other basic clinical testing
Assist with medication and prescription-related tasks
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Schedule and coordinate patient appointments as needed
Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and other members of the healthcare team
Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked clinical areas
Follow all company policies, procedures, and applicable healthcare regulations
Provide excellent customer service and maintain patient confidentiality
Qualifications
Medical Assistant certification preferred
Previous medical office or primary care experience preferred
Knowledge of basic clinical procedures and medical terminology
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to multitask in a busy primary care environment
Professional, dependable, and team-oriented
Must demonstrate compassion and respect when interacting with patients
