Support exceptional patient care in a specialized surgical setting.
Raleigh Medical Group, PA is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our Mohs Specialty clinical team in Raleigh. This role supports providers and patients throughout the surgical care process, helping ensure a positive patient experience and efficient clinic operations.
The ideal candidate is organized, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced procedural environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare and room patients for examinations and Mohs surgical procedures.
Obtain and document patient medical histories and vital signs.
Assist providers during procedures, including maintaining sterile fields.
Perform wound care and apply post-procedure dressings and bandages.
Administer medications as directed by the physician.
Collect, label, and prepare laboratory and pathology specimens.
Clean, sterilize, and maintain instruments and equipment.
Ensure exam and procedure rooms are fully stocked and prepared.
Document patient care, procedures, and results accurately in the EMR.
Assist with prescription refills, prior authorizations, referrals, and patient follow-up as directed
Provide patients with pre- and post-procedure instructions and education
Respond to non-emergent patient questions under provider guidance
Maintain compliance with OSHA, infection control, HIPAA, and safety standards
Support a positive, patient-centered experience throughout the visit
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum of one (1) year of Medical Assistant experience
Strong computer and documentation skills
Preferred:
Medical Assistant certification
Dermatology, surgical, or procedural experience
Experience with EMR systems.
