Job Description
The Medical Assistant is a multi-skilled individual that works in a healthcare setting to support the non-clinical and clinical functions of the service area. Functions within the Medical Assistant scope of practice and under the direction and continuous supervision of a licensed healthcare provider (MD, NP, RN, LPN) during performance of uncomplicated clinical services and tasks. Reports to department leadership.Required Experience
- LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
- Required Licenses and/or Certifications
- CPR training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.
- Must provide record of a completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript for those areas performing complexity testing.
- Required Education and Experience
- Successful completion of an accredited medical assistant program or a recognized medical assistant certification.
Preferred Experience
- Preferred Licenses and/or Certifications
- Current registration/certification as a Medical Assistant or military medical experience preferred.
- Preferred Education and Experience
- One to two years of experience in a related healthcare field preferred.
