Join Henry Ford Health System's dynamic internal staffing department—a forward-thinking solution that keeps our health system running smoothly. We proactively address staffing needs due to vacations, call-offs, leaves of absence, and fluctuations in patient census or acuity, ensuring quality care is never compromised.

As a Medical Assistant Float, you'll gain valuable experience across multiple Henry Ford clinics while maintaining schedule flexibility.

A minimum commitment of two days per week, with opportunities to work up to a full-time position if desired.

Thrive in a flexible environment—rotate across different clinic locations and specialties to expand your clinical expertise.

Enjoy primarily Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts with optional weekend opportunities available at premium pay rates.

Working collaboratively with providers and nursing leadership, you'll deliver exceptional, compassionate patient care by performing diverse administrative and clinical responsibilities. Your day-to-day impact includes:

• Welcoming patients and guiding them through the care experience with professionalism and empathy
• Gathering comprehensive medical histories and documenting patient information accurately
• Measuring and recording vital signs with precision and attention to detail
• Preparing patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring their comfort and understanding
• Providing direct clinical support to physicians during patient encounters
• Demonstrating clinical excellence and maintaining the highest standards of medical assisting practice

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills preferred. Ability to perform a wide variety of clinical skills as related to ambulatory patient care preferred. Ability to problem-solve preferred. Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills preferred. EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience preferred. Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills. Successful completion of HFMG pharmacology class and test.

Additional Requirements:

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum). With a minimum of one-year continuous work as Medical Assistant with verifiable clinical experience
• OR-Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years. OR- Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical medical assisting. OR-
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). OR- Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience.
• OR- Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

• Current BLS Certificate.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
