Location: San Diego
Salary Range: $25.00 – $35.00 (Based on experience)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team. This float position offers a dynamic work environment, with the opportunity to work across five clinic locations: Kearny Mesa (primary location), Santee, Poway, Linda Vista, and Point Loma. In this role, you will provide essential support to our healthcare professionals while ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. The ideal candidate will be skilled in both clinical and administrative tasks, with a passion for helping others.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms and medical equipment.
• Take patient histories, vital signs, and assist with patient inquiries.
• Administer medications and perform basic lab tests as directed.
• Schedule patient appointments and manage medical records.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families.

• Provide a high-quality, patient-centered experience by demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and respect in all patient interactions.
• Prepare patients for exams and procedures by obtaining histories, documenting chief complaints, and ensuring patient comfort.
• Assist providers (physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants) with examinations, procedures, and clinical workflows.
• Communicate clearly with patients regarding visit expectations, care instructions, and 
• follow-up plans.
• Address patient concerns promptly and escalate issues appropriately when needed
• Obtain and accurately document vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant patient information in the EHR.
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring proper supplies, equipment, and 
• cleanliness standards are met.
• • Perform clinical procedures within scope, including: 
• o Specimen collection and handling
• o Medication administration as directed
• o Assisting with minor procedures
• o Point of Care Testing (POCT)
• o Quality Control per clinic policy
• • Support infection control protocols and maintain compliance with OSHA and clinical 
• safety guidelines.
• Administrative & EHR Responsibilities
• • Accurately document all patient interactions, orders, and clinical activities in the 
• Electronic Health Record (EHR).

• • Manage provider workflows by supporting documentation, order entry, and follow-up 
• tasks.
• • Scan, index, and manage patient records and clinical documents within the EHR.
• • Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks, including patient follow-up and care 
• coordination.
• Phone & Communication Management
• • Answer incoming calls in a professional and timely manner.
• • Triage calls based on urgency and route appropriately to clinical or administrative staff.
• • Respond to patient inquiries, provide appropriate information within scope, and 
• document all relevant communications in the EHR.
• • Support additional communication channels (e.g., patient portal messages) as 
• assigned.
• Care Coordination & Follow-Up
• • Assist with patient follow-up activities, including communicating lab results, scheduling, 
• and care instructions, as directed by providers.
• • Coordinate with internal team members to ensure continuity of care and completion of 
• patient care plans.
• • Support referral coordination and documentation when applicable.
• Compliance & Safety
• • Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
• • Follow all clinic policies related to infection control, OSHA, and workplace safety.
• • Ensure all patient care and documentation practices meet regulatory and 
• organizational requirements.
• Team Collaboration & Operations
• • Work collaboratively with providers, clinical staff, and administrative teams to support 
• efficient clinic operations.
• • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked clinical environment.
• • Contribute to a positive and professional workplace culture.
• • Participate in workflow improvements and process standardization efforts.
• • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant program preferred.
• BLS Certification
• Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
