Medical Assistant / Physician Scribe
PRC Alliance Pain Relief Centers is a family of pain management specialists committed to relieving pain through exceptional and compassionate care. Our mission is to relieve patients of pain and provide outstanding medical care and comfort through a conservative yet comprehensive approach to pain management.
We serve our patients at eight locations northeast of Orlando: Palm Coast, Ormond Beach, Daytona Beach, Port Orange, New Smyrna Beach, DeLand, Orange City, and Lake Mary.
We are currently hiring a Medical Assistant / Physician Scribe to join our team of pain management specialists. This position will have a strong focus on physician scribing and clinical clerical support, with traditional Medical Assistant duties performed as needed.
Primary Responsibilities
Physician Scribing
The primary responsibility of this position will be to serve as a dedicated scribe for a physician. This individual will:
- Accompany the physician to the PRC office locations where the physician is scheduled to see patients.
- Remain with the physician during clinic and accurately document patient encounters in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Complete timely and accurate charting based on the physician's direction and documentation requirements.
- Assist the physician with maintaining efficient patient flow and completion of clinical documentation.
- Ensure documentation is complete, organized, and entered appropriately while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Be comfortable traveling between PRC locations based on the physician's schedule.
Clerical & Administrative Support
The second primary responsibility of this position will be completing various clinical clerical and administrative assignments, including but not limited to:
- Processing outgoing patient referrals.
- Completing prior authorizations for medications.
- Completing prior authorizations for specialty procedures and services.
- Indexing and appropriately routing medical records and documents.
- Placing orders and assisting with order-related follow-up.
- Assisting with daily clinic and schedule preparation.
- Maintaining and updating patient records.
- Reviewing, routing, and assisting with in-house and outside laboratory results as assigned.
- Completing other clerical, administrative, and clinical support tasks as needed.
Medical Assistant Duties – As Needed
Traditional Medical Assistant responsibilities will be performed as needed and may include:
- Assisting with patient exams and procedure set-ups.
- Preparing and stocking patient exam rooms with necessary supplies and equipment.
- Cleaning exam rooms and adhering to bloodborne pathogen and universal precaution guidelines.
- Assisting with patient intake and clinical workflow when coverage is needed.
- Providing patient comfort and support as appropriate.
- Resolving or appropriately referring patient questions, requests, and concerns.
- Obtaining and communicating information to providers and other team members as needed.
- Providing coverage and additional clinical support based on the needs of the practice.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
License/Certification:
- Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
- BLS Certification required.
Additional Requirements:
- Strong medical terminology and documentation skills.
- Prior medical scribing or EMR documentation experience preferred.
- Must be organized, accurate, and highly detail-oriented.
- Professional presence with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, be self-directed, and take initiative.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
- Must be willing and able to travel between PRC locations based on the assigned physician's schedule.
- Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing physician and clinic schedules.

Pay Range
- Based on experience.
Location
- Multiple PRC locations based on the assigned physician's schedule.
- Regular travel between office locations is an essential part of this position.
