Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages with accuracy and care
- Properly label, process, and prepare blood specimens for laboratory analysis
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile work environment in compliance with infection control standards
- Verify patient identity and review test orders prior to specimen collection
- Document collection procedures and update patient records accurately in the EHR system
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients to reduce anxiety during procedures
- Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and clinic-specific safety and compliance protocols
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification preferred or equivalent training
- Previous phlebotomy or clinical experience preferred
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques including difficult draws
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to specimen integrity
- Excellent interpersonal and patient communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting
