Job Summary:
Preventive Plus P.A. has an immediate opening for a full-time Medical Receptionist as we expand our staff to accommodate anticipated growth. We are seeking a qualified professional to join our clinical team as a Medical Receptionist. The ideal candidate will have at least six months of experience working on a medical office front desk, ideally in a high-volume clinical setting. Candidates with other relevant backgrounds who believe that they can successfully perform the responsibilities of the position are also encouraged to apply.

The right candidate will have a strong work ethic, take personal responsibility for the quality and completion of their work, be consistently accurate and precise in their work, maintain a professional appearance, arrive ready and alert to perform their duties, maintain consistent attendance, report to work on time Monday through Friday, provide excellent customer service, and have reliable transportation to the clinic.

Required Duties and Responsibilities
The Medical Receptionist must be willing to perform the following duties. Training will be provided where needed:
- Opening: The Medical Receptionist must be able to open the clinic promptly at 9:00 am each morning. This includes allowing waiting patients into the facility and beginning the patient check-in process.
- Scheduling: Answer phone calls and emails to schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments. Enter and update all scheduling activities in the office medical management system.
- Scanning: Upload medical documents, charts, organizational and physician requests into the office medical management systems and file spaces.
- Communications: Contact companies for medical claim information, service authorizations, examination paperwork and other requests as needed.
- Payments: Receive, apply, and record payments.
- Patient Check In: Obtain patient visit intake paperwork, collect and scan patient identification and insurance information, enter visit information in the office medical records system, and check for proper authorization from the patient’s employer when applicable.
Job-Related Skills and Competencies
- Experience with customer-facing service and communications.
- Experience using a medical record (EHR) software.
- Ability to learn new procedures, systems, and responsibilities quickly while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact with patients and others in a professional and respectful manner.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work effectively with medical providers, coworkers, and management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and the ability to accurately enter and manage information in clinical and administrative systems.
